Slimy Studio

Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 October 2026 · Applies to the Slime Climb mobile game

The short version: if you sign in with Google Play Games, we save your progress (coins, unlocked items, settings and stats) online so you can carry on from any phone. The leaderboard shows your chosen name, best distance, country flag and slime. Purchases are handled by Google Play; we never see your card details. The free game shows ads, and ad partners may use your device's advertising ID. You can limit or reset this in your phone's settings. We don't sell your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Slimy Studio ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you play Slime Climb (the "Game"). Slimy Studio is an independent game developer based in New South Wales, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we aim to meet the expectations of privacy laws elsewhere, including the GDPR.

Some features below, such as ads and real-money purchases, may arrive in an update after launch. This policy covers them so you know what to expect.

1. Your game progress

The Game keeps your progress on your phone: best distance, falls and other stats, coins, items you've bought or unlocked (slimes, goo shots, extras) and which ones you're using, and settings (sound, music, show stats, tilt calibration).

Cloud save. If you sign in with Google Play Games, a copy of that progress is also saved online, linked to your Play Games player. When you sign in on a new or reset phone, your progress is restored. If you play without signing in, progress stays only on that phone and is lost if you uninstall the Game or clear its data.

The Game reads your phone's motion sensor so you can steer by tilting. This happens on your device only; motion readings are never stored or sent anywhere.

2. Your account and the leaderboard

Online features are powered by Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies), and sign-in uses Google Play Games Services (Google LLC).

InformationWhy we use it
A random player IDCreated by Unity the first time you open the Game, so your progress, purchases and scores belong to you.
Google Play Games identityIf you sign in, Google confirms your Play Games player identity to Unity. It is used to link your player to your Google account so your cloud save and purchases follow you to other phones. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not use your email address.
Leaderboard nameThe name you choose (3–12 letters, numbers or underscores). Shown publicly to other players and checked for offensive words.
Best distanceYour score, shown publicly on the leaderboard.
Country codeA two-letter code from your phone's region setting (e.g. "AU"), used to show a flag next to your name. This is not your location; the Game never uses GPS or location services.
Selected slimeShown as your picture on the leaderboard.
Run timingStart and end times of each run, recorded by the server to check that scores are possible and to stop cheating.
Technical dataLike any online service, Unity and Google receive basic connection data such as IP address, device model and operating system in order to deliver the service and keep it secure.

Only players who sign in with Google Play Games can post scores or use cloud save. You can play without signing in.

3. Purchases

You can buy extra coins with real money. Purchases are made through Google Play (or the Apple App Store on iPhone, if released there). Payment is handled entirely by Google or Apple: we never see or store your card or bank details.

When you buy something, we receive purchase information from the store: what was bought, the order number, the date, the price and currency, and whether it's valid or refunded. We use this to deliver your coins, restore purchases to your account on other phones, prevent fraud, and keep records we're required to keep for tax and accounting.

4. Advertising

The Game is free and is supported by ads, for example a video you can choose to watch for bonus coins, or an ad between runs. Ads are shown by third-party ad networks. To show ads, measure how they perform and prevent ad fraud, these networks may collect:

Your choices:

Each ad network handles the data it collects under its own privacy policy. We'll list the ad networks we use in this section once ads go live.

5. What we don't collect

6. Who we share information with

These providers may store and process data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your choices and rights

9. Children

Slime Climb is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has signed in, made a purchase or posted to the leaderboard, email us and we'll delete their data.

10. Security

Information sent between the Game and Unity, Google and ad networks is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Purchases are verified with the app store before coins are added, and scores are checked on the server rather than trusted from the device. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to a minimum.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how the Game uses information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the Game.
